Making a Living In Little India

He stares pensively waiting for his next customer at his cornershop located along a five foot way. Aware of the many other shops that sell similar items, he keeps his shop open for at least 12 hours a day, relying on the sales of magazines, newspapers and religious books that are in different Indian dialects.
Not the devil but he illegally makes a living along the busy road near Mustafa Centre by selling counterfeit good and fluorescent party props. He looks out for possible customers amongst pedestrians who cross the crowded street and the police who usually make their rounds at dusk in Little India.
A manager attending to administrative paperwork in his makeshift office in the corner of Jothi Store. A well-known shop along Campbell Lane, it is often frequented by Indians for items such as gold plated plates and vessels that are used for religious purposes.
Into the world of a flower garland seller in Little India. Selling maalai or flower garlands that are intricately put together in the early hours of the day, this flower garland seller makes his garlands from jasmine, roses, marigold and leaves. He makes a living knowing that these garlands play a significant role in every Hindu festival where deities need to be decorated with a variety of fragrant and non-fragrant flowers.
A shy magazine seller who breaks into a smile when being photographed, his shop is a familiar sight and has been at the same location for the last decade.
